Florida Tour 2007

April 2007 was the first time that the LKA Squad has gone away for warm weather training ahead of the KUGB Nationals in May.

A party of 15 made the long journey to Orlando, Florida where we hired two villas to house the group for our stay there. We trained most days at 7.30am for two and a half hours, covering both Kata and Kumite. We also had a trip to South West Florida to North Port where we trained in 3 sessions with the local club there, run by KUGB Members Paul amp; Soo Moon. The Moon’s very kindly hosted the entire LKA Team for two nights and we are very grateful to them for that.

The early training schedule allowed us plenty of free time to enjoy the usual tourist delights of the theme parks round Orlando and we visited Sea World, Universal Studios, Island of Adventure and Busch Gardens during the trip.

Natasha Balyckyi said ‘ It was a wicked trip, well worth doing and we came home as a Team.’

Daryn Hobden commented ‘I would recommend this trip to anyone wanting to prepare for the Nationals, high standard of training, good team building and fantastic weather.’

The full group that made the trip was Randy Williams, Nick Heald, Matt Price, Zoe Starr, Natasha Balyckyi, Mel Finlay, Ashley Scott, Daryn Hobden, Joe Hart, Adwoa Hughes-Morley, Tom Little, Steve Outhwaite, Emma Nunn, Helen Searle amp; Nathan McQueen.
