KUGB Grand Slam 30th August 2008

We had a number of competitors competing for the KUGB England Squad at the Grand Slam event in Chesterfield. KUGB Squad members from England, Scotland, Wales amp; Ireland were competing in both individual and team events.

Ashley Scott, Joe Hart and David Wright had the most success with individual placings. Ashley took 3rd place in Female Kumite and 4th place in Female Kata, David Wright took 3rd place in Male Kata and 3rd place in the Junior Male Kumite 18-20yrs, a fine all round showing from both these competitors. Joe Hart had his best showing yet taking 3rd place in Male Kumite, beating England International competitors Liam O'Grady and JJ Bruce on the way. A fine showing which hopefully Joe can carry forward to the remaining events of the year.

Ryan Tucker and Mel Finlay both fought in respective Team Kumite events for their age, winning the events in each case.
