The LKA had a small team of 6 competitors take part in the annual KUGB Students event at Chesterfield. Despite the small number, they were successful with each one coming home with a medal.
Mel Finlay, Team Captain for the day, led by example taking 2 Gold and a Bronze medal. She beat team-mate Emma Nunn in the Female Kumite final and led the Female Team to a fine victory over Liverpool University in the Final. To round this off she took 3rd place in Kata with Sochin.
