LKA competes at BUSA 2008

3 Leeds Karate Academy members took part in the 2008 BUSA Championships held in Sheffield over the weekend of 15th amp; 16th March 2008. David Wright was representing Leeds University and took 3rd place in the Mens Under 65k Kumite event.

Natasha Balyckyi and Ashley Scott both represented Leeds Metropolitan Carnegie and took 3rd place in the Female Team Kumite event, which given they were one fight down in each match was a very creditable result. Ashley went on the take 2nd place in the Female Under 60k Kumite.

Given that all 3 were very unfamiliar with competing under WKF rules, this was an excellent performance. Indeed, for Natasha and Ashley, this was their first experience of competing under WKF Kumite rules and only the 2nd time David had, so very well done to all 3.
