The entry was a good mixture of experienced competitors and club members giving it a go in a friendly environment.
On the 14th March, the LKA was very honoured to host Sensei Antonio Oliva Seba 8th Dan, a WKF International Coach. Sensei is Spanish and has been practising Karate for around 45 years.
The LKA had 5 senior members travel to Nottingham on the 13th March to train with the world famous Kagawa Sensei, 8th Dan Chief Instructor of the JKS.
The LKA took 47 competitors to the Howe Bridge Sports Centre in Atherton for the 42nd North West Open organised by Sensei Billy Higgins 7th Dan.
Fifteen members of the LKA represented England at the UK Karate KUGB Grand Slam event held in Chesterfield. This competition saw English, Scottish, Welsh, Irish and Northern Irish squad members compete against each other in individual and team events under full international rules.
Leeds Karate Academy members have just returned from a highly successful tripto Cambridge. The academy was asked to send a squad of fighters to compete ina special three-way tournament, which saw the Leeds Karate Academy take on Cambridge University and the Japanese’s Keio University Karate teams.
The LKA had a good weekend at the annual KUGB Squad selections held at the Liverpool Red Triangle over the weekend of the 29th and 30th January.
